Pioneer John Bradshaw Passes
Educator, counselor, motivational speaker, and author John Bradshaw passed away on Sunday due to heart failure. He was eighty-two years old.
Bradshaw hosted a number of PBS television programs on such topics as addiction, recovery, codependency, and spirituality. Bradshaw was credited with popularizing such ideas as the wounded inner child and the dysfunctional family. With several New York Times best sellers, his books sold over ten million copies and were published in forty-two languages. His last book, Post-Romantic Stress Disorder, was published in 2014 by Health Communications, Inc.
Bradshaw is survived by his sons, John Jr. and Brad Isaacs; his daughters Brenda Isaacs Booth and Ariel Harper Bradshaw; his second wife, Karen Mabray Bradshaw; his niece Katie Bradshaw; and several grandsons.
Visitation for family and close friends will be on Friday, May 13, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Bradshaw-Carter Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, May 14 at 10:00 am at the Church of St. John the Divine.
